How do I remove a milky film from inside an antique canning jar?

I've tried removing the film with vinegar and a lime remover, neither had any effect.|||Vinegar is a good bet. But if it isn't working, try TSP.|||Okay, I give up. What is TSP? And why are you giving such a vague answer 9 months after a question was asked?

|||Use a denture cleaning solution--the kind you drop into water like alka-seltzer. Your jar is probably coated with mineral deposits and denture cleaner will remove those. It may take more than one treatment. Rinse very thoroughly and let the jar air-dry.

Denture cleaner also cleans thermos bottles and vases that have films and stains in them.|||umm, probably try both Acetone or an alcohol. Have you tried letting it soak in hot soapy water and then scrubbing it?
