How do I get old photos on film onto facebook?

I have older pictures that are on film scanned onto my computer, but when I go to transfer them, my computer always freezes. Am I doing something wrong, or is there another way to do this?|||maybe your computer is old or slow? it just cant handle uploading photos. try putting it on a usb and uploading them from another computer, or do a de frag tio speed yours up.|||they have to be in a certain format.."jpeg"gif,png files..or they will not upload
