How do you fix a stuck film advance lever on a 35mm camera?

I have a Promaster 2500pk SLR and the film advance is stuck. Any suggestions on how to fix the problem?|||A stuck film advance can have many reasons so it is difficult to give exact advise.

There can be something stuck in the advance mechanism as well as just an empty battery and the shutter not firing because of it. With an unfired shutter the film advance will be blocked to avoid advancing an unexposed frame.

If you are at the end of a roll of film wind it back and put it out of the camera.

I don't know if batteries are required in that camera for firing the shutter or if they are only used for metering. But try new batteries anyway.

If nothing helps you can always send it to Promaster for repair:

Hope you get it working again looks like a fine camera.|||Yes, professional repair. To fix that problem, I had it once so I know, you have to tear that section of the camera apart. There's gears and what not in there and only a pro can do the job without actually destroying the camera which you will probably do if you try it yourself.
